Tanner was evaluated today to go to preschool through the Jordan School district. He is not speaking well and that is going to be the main focus but he qualifies for the preschool class and not just the speech therapist. He is in the 1st percentile with his speech, 9th in social, 25 in academics.
They will also focus on his peer abilities. Since moving he is terrified of playing with other kids. He wants to play but only dares if there is only one on one play. I was at a neighbors house the other day and he would not go inside the house where I was cuz there were a bunch of kids there. Another time I was outside chatting with a bunch of our neighbors and all the kids were out playing, he would not come outside. I carried him out and he clung to me. When I put him down he ran into the house and locked the door. At the eval. the teacher asked him something about his friends and he told her about his buddy Pyper. But he has no friends so far here and it's sad.
He gets to ride a bus to the school and he is excited about that. Brookie takes the bus home from school and Tanner always wants to ride also. I think it is going to be wonderful for him. Make him feel like a big kid like Brookie.

Jordan doesn't talk much at all. He says like maybe 6 words and he turned 2 back in July. He has to go to preschool next year too. Pyper had the same problem and she went to preschool. She loved to talk but we couldn't understand a dang thing she said. She's still hard to understand sometimes but she's gotten A LOT better! He'll be alright...just give him some time and a little one on one.
